Bulk refurbishment at scale

The value-creation step most ITAD companies outsource — done in-house, at volume. We remanufacture retired fleets through a global network at a cost structure US-only refurbishers can't match, then return that value to you or move it as graded bulk lots.

// The Gap We Fill

Most ITAD shops give away the most valuable step

When a company retires a fleet, the hardware passes through several hands. The ITAD company collects it. Then, in most cases, it either gets wiped and recycled — destroying the value entirely — or sold in bulk to a separate refurbisher who does the profitable work and keeps the margin.

Refurbion is built differently. We operate the remanufacturing step in-house, at scale. That means we capture the value other operators hand off — and we can return more of it to you, whether you're retiring a fleet or buying graded stock.

// The Process

Four stages, built for volume

A standardised pipeline that turns mixed retired fleets into graded, certified, redeployable inventory at scale.

01

Bulk Intake

Retired fleets arrive at scale — from our own ITAD collections and from third-party ITAD partners who collect but don't refurbish. Every unit is logged, asset-tagged, and entered into the processing queue.

02

Triage & Diagnostics

Each device is tested across every functional component — display, battery, board, ports, wireless. Units are sorted by required work: ready-to-grade, light repair, or board-level remanufacture.

03

Remanufacture at Scale

This is the value-creation step. Heavy repair and board-level work runs through our global remanufacturing network at a cost structure US-only refurbishers can't match. Components replaced, devices restored, data wiped to NIST 800-88.

04

Grade & Redeploy

Finished units are graded, certified, and routed to output — returned to the originating ITAD client as recovered value, or moved as graded bulk lots to business buyers. The same pallet, monetized twice.

// Grading Standards

Every unit graded to a defined standard

Business buyers need to know exactly what they're receiving. Each device is graded against documented cosmetic and functional criteria before it leaves our facility.

Brand New

Factory sealed. Full manufacturer warranty.

Grade A

Like new. Minimal cosmetic signs. 12-month warranty.

Grade B

Good condition. Light wear. Fully functional. 6-month warranty.

Refurbished

Professionally restored. Component replacements as needed. 6-month warranty.

// Who It's For

Two kinds of business partner

Companies retiring a fleet

You're decommissioning hardware and want maximum value back. We remanufacture your retired fleet and return the recovered value as a credit — far more than a wipe-and-recycle disposal would yield.

Start with ITAD

Businesses buying bulk lots

You need graded, certified refurbished hardware in volume — for resale, deployment, or your own refurbishment operation. Buy direct from the remanufacturer at a cost no US-only refurbisher can match.

See Wholesale Supply

ITAD companies & recyclers — we're your remanufacturing back-end

If you collect hardware but don't refurbish in-house, send us your units. We remanufacture and grade them at scale, then return them or help you move them as bulk lots — so you capture refurbishment value instead of handing it off.

// The Engine in the Loop

Refurbishment is what makes the loop pay

ITAD brings hardware in. Wholesale moves it out. Bulk refurbishment is the value-creation step in the middle that connects them — and the reason the same pallet can be monetised twice.

// FAQ

Common questions about bulk refurbishment

How the process works, what we handle, and how it connects to ITAD and wholesale.

Bulk refurbishment is the remanufacture of retired hardware at volume — hundreds or thousands of units processed through a standardised grading and repair pipeline, rather than one device at a time. The difference is scale and integration: we process whole retiring fleets as a continuous operation, which is what makes the economics work for business clients and bulk buyers.

Most ITAD operators do one of two things with the hardware they collect: wipe and recycle it (destroying the value), or sell it in bulk lots to a separate refurbisher (giving away the refurbishment margin). Doing certified bulk refurbishment in-house requires a remanufacturing capability that most US ITAD shops don't have. Our global remanufacturing network is what lets us capture that value-creation step rather than outsourcing it.

We use a four-tier system — Brand New, Grade A, Grade B, and Refurbished — applied to every unit before it leaves our facility. Grade A means like-new condition with minimal cosmetic wear and a 12-month warranty. Every grade has defined cosmetic and functional criteria plus documented warranty terms, so business buyers know exactly what they're receiving.

Bulk refurbishment is the engine in the middle of our closed loop. ITAD is the intake — we collect a company's retiring fleet. Bulk refurbishment is where value is created — we remanufacture those devices at scale. Wholesale is the output — graded units move to business buyers. The same hardware is monetised on intake and again on output, which is what lets us return strong residual value to ITAD clients.

Yes. We work with ITAD companies and IT asset recyclers who collect hardware but don't have in-house refurbishment capability. You send us your collected units; we remanufacture, grade, and either return them to you or help you move them as bulk lots. This is a growing part of our business — we're the remanufacturing back-end for collectors who want to capture refurbishment value.

Our pipeline is built for bulk — typical engagements run from a few hundred to several thousand units. We're not set up for single-device consumer refurbishment; the operation is designed around business fleets and wholesale lots. If you have a large recurring volume, we can discuss a standing processing arrangement.

Yes. Every data-bearing device is wiped to NIST 800-88 Rev.1 standard as part of the remanufacture process, and we issue certificates of destruction by serial number. Refurbishment and secure data handling are a single integrated workflow, not separate steps.
